4-day Silent Meditation Retreat at Marble Canyon Lodge - January 16 - 19, 2026

Feel your breath. Free your mind. Transform your life.

During this 4-day silent meditation retreat, you will learn and practice Anapana, Vippasana, and Metta meditation techniques.

This retreat is similar to the beginning of a standard 10-day Vipassana course: We concentrate on focusing pinpoint awareness on breath sensation as a tool to focus and cleanse the mind.

Unplug. Unwind. Recharge.

Vipassana, or to see things as they really are, is a deeply personal practice rooted in the concept of impermanence and observating physical sensations with equanimity as they arise and pass away, known as annica.

As your mind becomes completely focused on your breath sensation, internal dialogue starts to fade and heightened awareness of sensations begin to emerge. This is where the transformation begins.

It is possible to slough away old belief systems and thought patterns and rewire your neuro-pathways to make space for healing and joy.

Night one, we gather for a shared meal and then enter noble silence after our first guided meditation, designed to awaken the senses with candle gazing, yoga nidra, and a soothing sound bath.

As a group, we observe noble silence and practice group and individual meditation for the next two full days and nights.

We conclude noble silence and engage in a metta “loving-kindness” meditation the morning of day four.

Throughout this retreat, you will receive coaching, mentorship, and direction. you will have opportunities to ask questions and receive support, both individually and in group settings.

We will listen to a series of Dhamma talks, as delivered by S.N. Goenka when he was alive. Goenka brought Vipassana meditation, as taught by Buddha, to the US from India and initiated the non-profit entity of Dhamma Vipassana, which offers thousands of meditation courses throughout the world annually. The discourse he offers helps add clarity and context to the practice of Vippasana.

Logistics:

Similar to all 10-day Vipassana courses, we eat our main meals at 8:00 am and 11:30 am. A light dinner and tea will be offered at 5:00 pm each evening.
